Backstory:
Free Sofa was formed in 2013 in a college dorm room in Portland, Oregon. The founding members, singer-guitarist Johnny Savage and drummer Sam ‘The Hammer’ Haines, found a discarded sofa on the side of the road, which they promptly claimed as their own. From this ‘free sofa,’ the duo began to jam, write songs, and create a sound that felt true to their own eclectic tastes. Eventually joined by bassist Fiona ‘Fizz’ DeWitt and keyboardist Alex ‘Keys’ Keyes, Free Sofa evolved from a fun side project to a full-blown musical endeavor. Their debut album, “Cushioned Chronicles”, caught the attention of an indie label and since then, the band’s unique sound has resonated with fans across the country.
