The band was formed in 2010, when four childhood friends – Alex (lead vocals, guitars), Ben (drums, backing vocals), Carl (bass guitar), and Doug (keyboards) – reunited after a decade of attending different universities and pursuing individual music projects. They moved into an old farmhouse on the outskirts of Birmingham, Alabama, where they spent countless hours jamming, creating music, and perfecting their unique sound. The name ‘Unhealthy Failure’ came as an ironic twist on their own personal struggles and their collective resilience in the face of them.
