Political Flower

Backstory:

Political Flower was formed in the burgeoning music scene of Austin, Texas, in the late 2000s. The band was comprised of longtime friends and songwriting partners, lead vocalist and guitarist, Jake Donovan, bassist Sarah Cross, drummer Noah Thompson, and pianist Claire Wong. They bonded over a shared love for thought-provoking lyrics and electric live performances. The band’s name, Political Flower, came from their belief that music should be used as a tool to discuss important issues, just like a flower uses its beauty to attract attention to itself.

Their journey was not without struggles. The band spent years playing gigs in local bars and clubs, juggling day jobs, and writing songs in their spare time. Things began to change in 2013 when they released their debut album, finding an enthusiastic audience who appreciated their unique sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Their music continues to evolve, but their mission remains the same: to create music that encourages listeners to think, feel, and engage with the world around them.

Title:

“Midnight Revolution”

Full Song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Walking through the ashes, [D] under neon lights,
[Em] Searching for the answers, [C] in the dead of night.
[G] Hearts loud as thunder, [D] minds clear as day,
[Em] We’ve got a world to change, [C] let’s not hesitate.

(Chorus)
[G] Midnight Revolution, [D] under the starry skies,
[Em] Our voices are the solution, [C] Can’t you hear the battle cry?
[G] Hunger for justice, [D] thirst for the truth,
[Em] Through the sound of music, [C] we’ll show the proof.

(Verse 2)
[G] Shadows of the fallen, [D] echoes of the brave,
[Em] We’ll carry their stories, [C] till we pave the way.
[G] Bound by the rhythm, [D] driven by the rhyme,
[Em] In this revolution, [C] We’re running out of time.

(Chorus)
[G] Midnight Revolution, [D] under the moon’s soft glow,
[Em] We’re the new generation, [C] With seeds ready to sow.
[G] Strumming for freedom, [D] singing for the oppressed,
[Em] In this midnight revolution, [C] we’ll never rest.
