Backstory:

Grandiose Potato was born from the minds of four college friends – Vincent Williams on lead vocals and guitar, Rachel Smith on keyboards, and the dynamic duo of Jake and Tommy Howard on bass and drums respectively. These creative minds found unity while studying at The University of Colorado Boulder, where they bonded over their shared love for music and their unique ability to find humor in even the simplest of things. Inspired by their shared dorm room’s perpetually stocked pile of instant mashed potatoes, they named their band Grandiose Potato, a name that perfectly represents their down-to-earth nature and grand ambitions.

In their early days, the band honed their unique sound by playing at local pubs, weddings, and university events. Their infectious energy and quirky lyrics quickly earned them a loyal following. As they matured, they developed a knack for infusing humor into their profound lyrics and catchy melodies, encapsulating their fans’ experience of life’s grandiosity in the simplest things, like a potato.
