Backstory:
Yellowish Reception started out as a chance meeting between singer-songwriter Jayce Nolen and lead guitarist Oliver Barnes, both hailing from the small town of Skegness, England. They bonded over shared musical tastes while working together at a local vinyl record store. Soon they were jamming after work in Oliver’s parents’ garage, with Jayce’s haunting lyrics and eclectic mix of folk, rock and pop inspiring Oliver’s intricate guitar work. When Sam Clarke, a local drummer, and Camille Jones, a classically trained pianist, joined the duo, Yellowish Reception was born. The band’s name was inspired by the dim, yellowish, antiquated reception area of the record store where Jayce and Oliver first met and shared their dreams of starting a band.

Title:
“Golden Sands”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse)
Em G
Golden sands beneath our feet,
D A
Days of summer, bittersweet,
Em G
Fading echoes of our youth,
D A
Lost in whispers of the truth.
(Chorus)
C G D
Oh, remember the time,
Em C
Underneath the pines,
G D
Where we carved our names,
Em C
In a heart aflame,
G D
Golden sands, they slip away,
Em C
But our love is here to stay.
(Verse)
Em G
Twilight paints the sky in hues,
D A
Of love’s palette, we did choose,
Em G
Laughter rings in every tide,
D A
In your arms, I wish to hide.
(Chorus)
C G D
Oh, remember the night,
Em C
Under the moonlight,
G D
Where we shared our dreams,
Em C
By the peaceful streams,
G D
Golden sands, they kiss the sea,
Em C
But our love is our eternity.
