Wrathful Deputy

Backstory:

Formed in the heart of Montana’s turbulent social scene in 2014, Wrathful Deputy’s story is deeply rooted in the journey of three childhood friends, Richard ‘Rick’ Hargrove (Lead singer and bassist), Scott ‘Scout’ Barlow (Lead guitarist), and Ethan ‘Eli’ Montgomery (Drummer). All three grew up together in the small town of Bozeman, Montana, and shared a common love for music. They began their journey as a garage band, playing at local venues and eventually gaining recognition for their unique sound. The name ‘Wrathful Deputy’ was inspired by an old western movie they watched together as kids, resonating with their rebellious spirit and the raw, powerful energy they sought to bring to their music.

Genre:

Wrathful Deputy’s sound is a fusion of hard rock and 70s style blues, creating an authentic and dynamic soundscape that reflects their roots and influences.

Song Title:

“Blazing Sundown”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1 – C G Am F)
Well, the sun’s going down and I’m on my way,
Through the dusty roads of yesterday.
Got my heart full of longing for a brand-new day,
Oh, Blazing Sundown, won’t you guide my way?

(Chorus – F G C Am)
Blazing Sundown, you’re my only light,
In the darkness of the lonesome night.
The path is winding, and it ain’t so clear,
Hold me close, Sundown, keep me near.

(Verse 2 – C G Am F)
Through the trials, through the tears, through the pain,
I’ve been wandering in the pouring rain.
But the flames of hope keep me sane,
Oh, Blazing Sundown, we’ll meet again.

(Chorus – F G C Am)
Blazing Sundown, you’re my guiding star,
In the wilderness no matter how far.
Your fiery embrace, like a lover’s charm,
Oh, Blazing Sundown, in your arms.

(Final Chorus – F G C Am)
Blazing Sundown, with your burning glow,
Light my path, wherever I go.
The night is long, but I’m not alone,
Blazing Sundown, take me home.

Favorite Fan:

Our favorite fan has to be Jenny “Cosmic” Ritter. Jenny, a Bozeman native herself, has followed Wrathful Deputy since our garage band days. She is the embodiment of what our music seeks to inspire – unyielding resilience and a spirit that refuses to be confined.
Testimonial from Jenny Ritter: “Wrathful Deputy? Man, they aren’t just a band; they’re a brotherhood. They’ve never lost their roots, and their music, it’s raw, it’s real – it’s life. From the local bars of Bozeman to sold-out arenas, I’ve followed them every step of the way. Their songs, like Blazing Sundown, they’ve become the soundtrack of my life. Wrathful Deputy isn’t just my favorite band; they’re a part of who I am.”
