Backstory:

Formed in a small basement in Austin, Texas in 2007, ‘Political Phrase’ took birth when four college friends, Alfie, Cyril, Walter, and Eddie, combined their passion for music and their desire to voice out socio-political issues through their lyrics. Alfie, the vocalist, had a unique gift of turning political discourses into engaging and thought-provoking lyrics, while Cyril and Walter, proficient in guitar and drums respectively, created indelible tunes that perfectly matched the intensity of Alfie’s words. Eddie, the bassist and the backbone of the group, glued everything together with his mesmerizing rhythms. They started off performing at local clubs and campus events, earning quite a reputation for their strong political messages wrapped in catchy music.

Political Phrase’s big break came in 2011 when their debut album titled ‘Voice of the Unheard’ got recognition from Rolling Stone magazine. Their music served as a mouthpiece for those who felt marginalized and neglected by the political system. The band has always managed to stay relevant, evolving their music and lyrics in response to the changing social climate, and they continue to inspire and engage audiences around the world.
