Elementary Airline

Backstory:

Elementary Airline was formed in a small town in Ohio, where the four members were high school friends who shared a love for music and an intense desire to escape their small-town life. The band was formed in 2002, with lead vocalist and guitarist, Johnny Redwood, drummer, Lisa Black, bassist, Brian Green, and keyboardist, Amber Blue. They began by playing cover songs at local bars and parties, eventually taking up space in Johnny’s basement to create music of their own. They named their band ‘Elementary Airline,’ symbolizing their aspiration to take flight from their ordinary lives and reach incredible heights.

Genre

The band’s music falls under the alternative rock genre, but they have experimented with electronic and indie rock elements in their songs.

Title

One of their most famous songs is “Flight in the Unknown.”

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Am (C) Dm (E)
“Setting our sights on the twilight end,
Dancing with dreams, around the bend.
Burning our fears in the midnight sun,
Chasing the echoes, one by one.

[Chorus]
F (G) C (Am)
We’re on a Flight in the Unknown,
In the river of stars, we find our home.
We’ve got the wind in our hair,
Got freedom in our stare, oh yeah.

[Verse 2]
Am (C) Dm (E)
“Stripped of illusions, bare to the bone,
Learning to fly, on our own.
With the world beneath our feet,
Every heartbeat is a beat of defeat.

[Chorus]
F (G) C (Am)
We’re on a Flight in the Unknown,
In the river of stars, we find our home.
We’ve got the wind in our hair,
Got freedom in our stare, oh yeah.
