Backstory:
Hefty Petrol was born in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The members, lead singer and guitarist Ricky “Slick” Johnson, bassist Joey “Throttle” Thompson, and drummer Benny “Spark” Price were all mechanics at a local garage. After a long day of fixing cars, they’d jam out in the garage, their music echoing through the town. It was the local bar owner who first saw their potential and offered them a regular gig on Friday nights, and that’s when their music career truly kicked off.

The band’s name was inspired by their shared love for vintage cars and heavy machinery. They found a unique connection through their distinct music style, which mirrored the sound and spirit of their mechanical work. Their music was a blend of high octane rock, with raw and gritty lyrics, reflecting the men’s blue-collar backgrounds and the love for everything high-powered.
