Backstory:
Unselfish Layer is a band that formed in the underground music scene of London in 2012. The founding members, lead singer Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson, drummer Mike ‘Mikey’ Thomson, bassist Harry ‘Hardcore’ Jones, and guitarist Nick ‘Nicky’ Stewart, met at a local music festival and shared a common love for creating music that spoke to the soul. Despite their disparate backgrounds – CJ an ex-soldier, Mikey a former investment banker, Hardcore a trained classic pianist, and Nicky an art school dropout – they found a common thread in their shared passion for music, which they poured into the creation of Unselfish Layer.

The band experienced its first taste of success with their debut album ‘Through the Crowd,’ which was critically acclaimed for its raw energy and honest lyrics. The album’s success led to a whirlwind of touring, recording, and unforgettable performances which solidified their place in the music world. Their emotional music and commanding stage presence have won them a strong fan base, who relate deeply to their unflinching look at life.
