Moral Avenue

Backstory:
Moral Avenue came to life in the humid, hustle-bustle of New Orleans, Louisiana in the spring of 2005. The band consists of four members: lead singer and guitarist, Sam “Silhouette” Simms, drummer, Eli “Edge” Edwards, bassist, Jake “Jigsaw” Johnson, and keyboardist, Sarah “Sphinx” Sinclair. They met in a local jazz bar, each nursing their own dreams of making it big in the music industry. One night, a chance jam session brought their distinct sounds together, and they realized they were onto something special. They named their band after the street where they had their first impromptu gig – Moral Avenue.

Genre:
Moral Avenue plays a unique mix of alternative rock with elements of jazz and blues, a sound they like to call ‘Soul Rock.’

Title:
“Broken Compass”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[C] I’ve been lost, down the [G] road I’ve never been,
[Am] Wandering around, with a [Em] broken compass in hand.
[F] Trying to find, some [C] clarity within,
[G] But all I see, is a [C] no man’s land.

(Chorus)
[F] But darling, you’re the [C] north star,
[G] Guiding me through the [Am] deepest dark.
[F] With you, I’d travel [C] far and wide,
[G] With you, I’d always [C] collide.

(Verse 2)
[C] The journey’s long, with [G] miles in between,
[Am] Through the storms, and the [Em] calm unseen.
[F] You’re the beacon, in my [C] chaotic scene,
[G] You’re the finest direction, [C] I’ve ever seen.

(Chorus)
[F] Because darling, you’re the [C] north star,
[G] Lighting up my [Am] darkest hour.
[F] With you, I’d journey [C] through the tide,
[G] With you, I’d always [C] confide.

Fan Testimonial:
“My name is Lily, and I’m probably the biggest fan of Moral Avenue. Their music is so raw and real, it’s like they’re telling my story. “Broken Compass” is my favorite song, it’s the soundtrack of my life. Whenever I feel lost, their music becomes my north star, guiding me through. It’s not just the melody or the lyrics, it’s the soul they put into every note. That’s what makes Moral Avenue my favorite band.”
