Backstory:
Verifiable Nerve came together as a band during a cold winter in Detroit, Michigan in 2013. The members, all college friends from Wayne State University, initially had nothing in common musically. Vocalist and guitarist Jack McCallister, bassist Liz Thomson, and drummer Chris “CJ” Johnston, however, soon realized that their vastly different musical backgrounds could be a strength rather than a weakness. They decided to fuse Jack’s love for punk, Liz’s passion for grunge, and CJ’s fascination with electronic music to create a unique sound. The band spent their early years playing in local bars and small music festivals, but their breakout moment happened in 2015 when their self-titled EP caught the attention of a popular music blogger, catapulting their work to a larger audience.
