Backstory:
Colossal Bench was formed in 2012 in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. The band’s members, lead singer Mike Haskins, drummer Sarah Stevens, bass guitarist Brian “Buzz” Parker and lead guitarist Jason Michaels, were all part of different punk rock bands before they decided to unite their music skills and profound passion for activism. The name Colossal Bench, according to them, symbolizes the massive support and strength unity can provide against systemic issues.

They started playing in small local gigs, their music resonating with the youth’s rebellious spirit. Over time, they gained recognition beyond their local scene for their hard-hitting lyrics and powerful performances. The band quickly gained a national following with their debut album “Rusted Chains” which was a stark critique of societal norms and a strong call to action for change, embodying the heart of punk rock culture.
