Backstory:
Born in the heart of Austin, Texas in 2013, Upright Carpenter Ant is a quartet composed of childhood friends who spent their formative years exploring different musical genres and instruments, eventually settling into their unique sound. Members Bobby “Bass” Jenson, Tommy “Thumbs” Michaels, Eddie “Echo” Harrison, and Sam “Sticks” Johnson lived within a few blocks of each other and shared a common love for music and backyard ant colonies. Their shared fascination with the industrious nature of the carpenter ant led them to the peculiar band name. Their journey from playing in garages to gracing festival stages around the world is a testament to the same tenacity and teamwork those ants exemplified.
