Mountainous Mummy

Backstory:
Mountainous Mummy was formed by five high school friends in a small mountain town in Colorado. The band’s unique name was inspired by a local legend about a mummified miner who was said to haunt the local mountain ranges. The members include lead vocalist and keyboardist Mark “Mummy” Mendelson, guitarist Jay “Jagger” Jackson, bassist Nick “Nova” Nelson, drummer Pete “Punch” Peterson, and fiddler Fred “Fret” Freeman. The group started off playing at local venues and quickly gained a following due to their unique sound and captivating storytelling style.

After high school, the band moved to Denver, where they continued to perform and hone their musical style. They released their first EP in 2014 and quickly gained a loyal fanbase. Their music gained recognition, not only for its unique blend of genres, but also for its lyrical depth and thoughtfulness. Their second album, released in 2017, charted on multiple indie music lists, and since then, they have been touring across the country, captivating audiences with their unique sound and live performances.
