Backstory:
Formed in 2017, Aware Fluid came to life when the paths of four Boston University students crossed – coincidentally all studying different forms of art. Lead singer and guitarist Leo Hawkins, drummer Emily Rourke, bassist Sammie Jenkins, and keyboardist Nathan Liu found a common ground in their shared love for music that evokes strong, raw emotions and pushes boundaries. They started creating music in a rented basement, which eventually became their personal haven of creativity. Over the years, they’ve endured many trials and tribulations – from juggling school and late-night jam sessions, to facing criticism for their experimental sound. However, these challenges only strengthened their resolve to redefine the music scene with their unique blend of sounds.
