Backstory:
Spanish Check is an intriguing mix of eclectic musicians that came together in Madrid, Spain, in the summer of 2004. The band was initially formed by university friends Miguel Sanchez and Pablo Ortiz, who discovered their shared love for music while studying architecture. They started performing as a duo in local bars, playing a blend of rock and Spanish folk music. Over time, they recruited drummer Maria Alvarez and bassist Juan Morales, and Spanish Check was officially born.
The band’s breakthrough came in 2006 when they were discovered by a local radio DJ, who was fascinated by their unique blend of music. They gained widespread recognition in Spain and soon expanded their fanbase globally.
