Delicious Language

Backstory:
Delicious Language emerged from the picturesque seaside town of Brighton, England in 2007. The band was formed by a group of college friends all studying at the University of Sussex. They found a shared passion for music and storytelling, releasing their initial compositions online while still in school. Their unique sound quickly gained attention, leading to local performances and eventually national touring. Their initial success was fueled by their mysterious yet inviting lyricism and melody, which captured the hearts of listeners.

The members of Delicious Language – lead vocalist/guitarist Jamie Turner, bassist Rachel Wright, drummer Pete Caldwell, and keyboardist Simon Lacey – each brought distinctive influences to the band, resulting in a dynamic and layered sound. From the start, it was evident that this band was not about to be pigeonholed into one specific genre.

Title: “Paperboat Memories”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1 [C Am Em G]
Under the city lights, we found our dreams,
Lost in the echoes of childhood screams,
Paperboat memories, sailing on the rain,
Just a picture torn, time won’t regain.

Chorus [F C G Am]
But we won’t fade away, no we won’t fade,
Into the whispers of yesterday,
We’re the symphony in the pouring rain,
Paperboat memories, we’ll sail again.

Verse 2 [C Am Em G]
In the ghostly shadows, we shared our secrets,
Promises made, in whispers discreet,
The reflection in the puddles, a story untold,
Paperboat memories, glitter like gold.

Chorus [F C G Am]
But we won’t fade away, no we won’t fade,
Into the echoes of yesterday,
We’re the melody in the pouring rain,
Paperboat memories, we’ll sail again.

Outro [F C G Am]
So here’s to the soundtracks of our past,
Paperboat memories, built to last,
We won’t fade, we won’t drown,
In the echoes of this town.
