“Spherical Operator” was formed in the winter of 2010 in Seattle, Washington. The band’s founding members, twin brothers Jake and Matt Lyons, were Physics students at the University of Washington, and thus they named their band after a complex physics term. Jake played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals, while Matt took up the drums. Soon, they were joined by their high school friends, bassist Tommy Mitchell and lead guitarist Chris Harper.
