Backstory:
Gloomy Cast was formed almost by accident in the small town of Hailey, Idaho. The founding members, high school friends Jeremiah Smith and Neil Ritter, ran into each other at a local garage sale. After purchasing an old yet oddly compelling drum kit and guitar, they decided to try their hand at making music. Initially, they played as a hobby, but their passion quickly grew, and their unique sound began to attract more and more listeners. With the addition of Natalie Holms on vocals and Jake Roberts on bass, Gloomy Cast was officially born. The band’s name was inspired by Idaho’s often-overcast weather, which they felt matched their introspective and melancholic sound.
Genre:
Gloomy Cast’s music is a mixture of alternative rock and indie pop, characterized by somber undertones, reflective lyrics, and a hauntingly beautiful performance style.
Title:
“Raindrop Rhythms”
Full Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Gm7 Cm7
Raindrop rhythms on my window, every tear a memory,
Gm7 Cm7
Underneath the gloomy cast, where you used to be,
EbM7 D7
Stories yet untold, echoes in the cold.
[Chorus]
Gm7 Cm7
Raindrop rhythms, falling gently, cleansing all they touch,
Gm7 Cm7
In the silence of the night, missing you so much,
EbM7 D7
In the arms of the rain, I hide my pain.
[Verse 2]
Gm7 Cm7
Watching as the raindrops dance, each one’s a different tune,
Gm7 Cm7
Like our love that used to be, like a fading moon,
EbM7 D7
In the gloomy dark, there’s a lonely spark.
[Chorus]
Gm7 Cm7
Raindrop rhythms, they’re my solace, whispering your name,
Gm7 Cm7
In the moments of despair, they share my claim,
EbM7 D7
Underneath the stars, healing all my scars.
