Backstory:
Actual Spell was formed in a charmingly disheveled loft in the heart of Brooklyn, New York in the late winter of 2012. Four friends, each with their own unique musical abilities and a shared love for eclectic and soulful harmonies decided to come together to create something truly magical. The band consists of Samuel Hayes on vocals and guitar, Emily Rose on drums and backing vocals, Daniel Finch on bass, and Claire O’Connor on keyboards and vocals. Named after a playfully heated debate over a trivial board game, Actual Spell has been bewitching audiences with their ethereal sound.

“Etched Glass”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
G Am
Oh, etched glass memories
C G
Echoing through the hallways of time
Am C
Can you remember the first time we met?
G Am
Underneath the weeping willow, tangled in a net
[Chorus]
D C
Etched glass, mirror to our past
G Am
Every shard a story, every fracture vast
C G
Can you see it all?
Am D
In the etched glass, the etched glass
[Verse 2]
G Am
Through the looking glass we roam
C G
Piecing together the fragments of home
Am C
Can you feel the warmth of the setting sun?
G Am
In the etched glass, where it all begun
[Chorus]
D C
Etched glass, mirror to our past
G Am
Every shard a story, every fracture vast
C G
Can you see it all?
Am D
In the etched glass, the etched glass
[Bridge]
Em Am
Shattered, scattered, echoes of the past
D G
In the etched glass, time moves so fast
[Chorus]
D C
Etched glass, mirror to our past
G Am
Every shard a story, every fracture vast
C G
Can you see it all?
Am D
In the etched glass, the etched glass

Testimonial:
“I’ve been a fan of Actual Spell since their first gig at a tiny Brooklyn bar. Their music speaks to me on a level I can’t fully express. The song ‘Etched Glass’ is a personal favorite because it narrates a story that feels intimately mine, yet universally relatable. Their unique blend of indie folk rock invokes a sense of calm and introspection. To me, Actual Spell is more than just a band, they’re my emotional refuge and creative inspiration.”
