Backstory:
Fresh Approval is the brain-child of high school friends Nicky “The Strings” Johnson (lead guitar) and Stevie “Boom Boom” Thompson (drums). The two first started playing together in their high school’s jazz band, where they quickly realized their shared passion for music. They consistently found themselves experimenting with different sounds and styles in their school’s music room after class. Soon enough, fellow students, Amy “Bass Queen” Walters (bass guitar) and Benny “Golden Voice” Rogers (lead vocals) joined the mix, and Fresh Approval was born.
The band started playing gigs at local clubs and bars, where their electric performances and unique sound quickly gained them a strong following. Their breakthrough came when they won a local Battle of the Bands competition, earning them a spot in a regional music festival. They’ve since recorded and released two studio albums and continue to tour, bringing their fresh, vibrant sound to audiences everywhere.
