Backstory:
Based out of Austin, Texas, Long Language is an eclectic group of musicians who met while attending the University of Texas. There, they were all part of the music program, each honing their skills in different areas. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Thomas Mitchell, bassist, Eliot Banks, drummer, Zachary Williams, and keyboardist, Lisa Rhode. One day, during a practice jam session in the university’s music room, they discovered their chemistry and decided to form a band, thus giving birth to Long Language. They chose this name as a tribute to the long conversations and endless jam sessions that led to their formation.
Long Language started performing at local bars and events, and quickly gained popularity for their unique sound and energetic performances. Their big break came when they won a local battle of the bands and got the opportunity to record their first studio album. Their music is a reflection of their shared love for diverse musical influences and their collective passion for creating something unique, meaningful, and powerful.

Title:
“Echoes of Yesterday”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1:
(Am) Sat on the porch, in the (G) setting sun,
(F) Thinking ’bout everything we’ve (C) done,
(Am) Laughter, tears, and the (G) rising fear,
(F) Painted a picture that’s (C) so clear.
Chorus:
(G) Echoes of yesterday, (C) whispering in my ear,
(Am) Recollections of a love, (F) that’s no longer here.
(G) Searching for a memory, (C) lost in a hazy gray,
(Am) Strumming my guitar, (F) to the echoes of yesterday.
Verse 2:
(Am) We were young, and we (G) were free,
(F) Lost in our youthful (C) spree,
(Am) That old melody, (G) playing on repeat,
(F) The rhythm of our hearts, (C) stuck on the backbeat.
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge:
(Dm) Can’t erase, (F) can’t rewind,
(G) Time’s a melody, (C) so unkind.
(Dm) In the mirror, (F) all I see,
(G) Is your reflection, (C) staring back at me.
(Repeat Chorus)
(F) Strumming my guitar, (G) to the echoes of yesterday.
