Calculating Rose

Backstory:
Born in the outskirts of Seattle, Calculating Rose emerged from the grungy garage band scene of the late 90s. The band was formed by high school pals, lead vocalist Jake Ross, and guitarist Max Harrison. After struggling to find their sound for a couple of years, they recruited classically trained pianist, Lilly Palmer, whose background in music theory helped them create a unique blend of melodies. Their breakthrough came in 2002 when their demo tape was picked up by a famous independent record label during a college radio show. Since then, they have been on a steady rise, crafting anthems of introspection and resilience for their loyal fan base.

A rose, a thorn, a complex middle.

In the sum of your petals, I dive,
Em C
In your thorny embrace, I thrive.

A calculating rose from above.

In your equation I find my place,
Em C
In your petals, I find grace.

Testimonial:
Sarah Stevens, a die-hard fan of Calculating Rose from Portland, says, “I fell in love with their music during my freshman year at the University. Their lyrics resonate with my life in a way no other band’s ever have. They make sense of the chaos and make me feel seen. I’ve been to every concert within a 200-mile radius and have every album on vinyl. Jake, Max, and Lilly are not just musicians; they’re poets, philosophers, mathematicians of emotion. Calculating Rose is my favorite because their music is not just heard; it’s felt. Each song is a journey, and I’m always excited to see where it takes me.”
