Backstory:
Smug Reflection found its origin in the heart of New York City, when four college friends decided to turn their dormitory jam sessions into something more substantial. As a form of escape from their rigorous academic lives, they found solace in crafting music that resonated with their shared experiences. Lead vocalist and bass player, Jason “Jazzy J” Michaels, guitarist and backup vocalist, Brad “Shredder” Townsend, drummer, “Silent” Simon Bellamy, and keyboardist, Luke “Ivory Fingers” Robinson, spent countless hours balancing their studies and their passion for music. After graduation, they made a pact to pursue their musical dreams, thus giving birth to Smug Reflection.

Their journey was far from smooth, with struggles of finding a suitable recording studio, getting their music heard, and working odd jobs to fund their dream. However, their perseverance finally paid off when their indie demo landed in the hands of a reputable record producer, leading to their first record deal.
