Barren Switch

Backstory:
Barren Switch originated in the small, sleepy town of Ashwood, Iowa. The founding members, Evan ‘Switch’ Swanson, a talented guitar player, and his childhood friend, Neil ‘Barren’ Barrett, a remarkable vocalist, used to perform at local bars and high school parties. They were joined by drummer, Casey ‘K2’ Knight, and bassist, Amy ‘All Star’ Allen, who were smitten by their raw talent and unique music style. Together, they moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to chase their music dream. After battling through the grueling LA music scene, they recorded their first EP in their shared apartment’s basement, which caught the attention of indie record label, ‘Raw Reverb Records’. The rest, as they say, is history.

Title:
“Whispers on the Highway”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Em C G D
Drifting along the edge of this old town,
Em C G D
The wind carries whispers of the lost and found.
Em C G D
We’re just two souls hitched on this ride,
Em C G D
With the ghosts of our past on the roadside.

[Chorus]
Em C G D
Whispers on the Highway, secrets in the dark,
Em C G D
Traveling through time, finding our spark.
Em C G D
Midnight shadows play, dancing in the light,
Em C G D
Whispers on the Highway, in the heart of the night.

[Verse 2]
Em C G D
Neon signs flicker, as we chase the moon,
Em C G D
Echoes of shattered dreams, humming our tune.
Em C G D
We find solace in the silence, comfort in the stars,
Em C G D
With the promise of morning, healing our scars.

[Chorus]
Em C G D
Whispers on the Highway, secrets of the soul,
Em C G D
We’re destined to journey, till we’re whole.
Em C G D
As the dawn breaks, embracing the light,
Em C G D
Whispers on the Highway, till the end of the night.

Fan Testimonial:
The band’s favorite fan is a middle-aged woman by the name of Valerie Simmons. Valerie discovered Barren Switch during a particularly challenging time and found solace in their music. “I remember hearing ‘Whispers on the Highway’ for the first time. I was going through a divorce and felt like I was falling apart. Their music, it spoke to me, comforted me in ways I can’t explain. It’s like they’ve seen the same heartaches, the same struggles. They’ve helped me heal, they’ve been my whisper on the highway. That’s why Barren Switch will always be my favorite band.”
