Vain Cheek

Backstory:

Vain Cheek emerged from the bustling underground music scene of Austin, Texas, in the late 2000s. The band comprises four members – frontman and lead vocalist Jack Ridgeway, guitarist Sam “Shredder” Mitchell, bassist Danny “Dee” Mathis, and drummer Lily “The Hammer” Hanson. The quartet met in high school, bonding over shared musical tastes and a rebellious spirit. Together, they began jamming in their parents’ garages, eventually arising as a captivating force in the local music scene. The band is known for their audacious stage presence, immersive performances, and thought-provoking lyrics, gaining them a dedicated fanbase.

Genre:

Vain Cheek leans towards Alternative Rock with a distinctive edge of Psychedelic Blues. Their music is a fusion of modern rock textures, classic blues rhythms, and psychedelic experimentalism. Their sound is frequently likened to a blend of The Black Keys, Tame Impala, and Arctic Monkeys, but with a unique touch that is unmistakably Vain Cheek.

“Tomorrow’s Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am G F E
In the realm of tomorrow’s shadows, where the sun forgets to rise,
Am G F E
I found myself lost and lonesome, beneath the starless skies,
Am G F E
Conversations with my reflection, in a windowpane disguise,
Am G F E
It’s a quest to find redemption, where tomorrow’s shadows lie.

(Chorus)
C G Am F
Wake me up when the morning comes, and the night has had its cries,
C G Am F
With the dawn, we’ll dance in the sun, beneath the clear blue skies,
C G Am F
For in the realm of tomorrow’s shadows, we’ll find our surprise.

(Verse 2)
Am G F E
In the echoes of the whispers, in the corners of my mind,
Am G F E
I’ve been running from the specters, of the life I left behind,
Am G F E
In the realm of tomorrow’s shadows, it’s peace I hope to find,
Am G F E
A solace from the chaos, in the sanctum of the blind.

(Chorus)
C G Am F
Wake me up when the morning comes, when the shadows have their demise,
C G Am F
With the dawn, we’ll dance in the sun, beneath the open skies,
C G Am F
For in the realm of tomorrow’s shadows, our destiny lies.
