Utter Bottom

Backstory:
Utter Bottom got its start in the heart of Bristol, United Kingdom, in the year 2008. Founding members Rhys Sinclair (vocals, guitar) and Elliot Monroe (drums) met while working at a local record store, bonding over shared love for punk rock and grunge. Soon, they were joined by Oliver Davies (bass), a childhood friend of Monroe, and thus, Utter Bottom was born. With a fierce DIY ethic, they played in every pub, club, and basement that would have them, recording their first EP in Sinclair’s bedroom. Their passion and hard work paid off with a cult following and eventually national attention.

By 2011, the band added Felicity Mitchell (guitar, vocals), bringing a fresh perspective and diversity to their sound. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album ‘Pandemonium at Dawn’, which garnered critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Known for their raw energy, Utter Bottom’s live performances soon became infamous, solidifying their status in the UK punk scene. Even after a decade, the band continues to push boundaries and grow their dedicated fanbase.

Title:
“Rampage in Reverie”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse)
[Em] Another dawn, another day,
[C] Underneath the sky’s gloomy grey.
[G] Dreaming of a world so far,
[D] Where we’re not lost, but just apart.

[Em] The city sleeps, the night’s alive,
[C] We’re crashing through, in overdrive.
[G] Lost in lights and sounds so deep,
[D] In dreams awake, where shadows creep.

(Chorus)
[G] Rampage in reverie, the night’s our song,
[D] Underneath the stars, we’ve found where we belong.
[Em] Break down the walls, let the chaos reign,
[C] In the wild heart of the night, we’re free again.

(Verse)
[Em] The dawn retreats, the day is won,
[C] Underneath the waning sun.
[G] Dreaming of a world so near,
[D] Where we’re not lost, but just unclear.

(Chorus)
[G] Rampage in reverie, the night’s our call,
[D] In the heart of the city, we stand tall.
[Em] Break the chains, let the madness flow,
[C] In the wild heart of the night, we’re ready to go.

Fan’s Testimonial:
Utter Bottom isn’t just my favorite band; they’re my lifeline. Their music is raw, heartfelt, and speaks to me in a way no other band ever has. From Sinclair’s gritty vocals to Monroe’s explosive drumming, Davies’ throbbing bass lines, and Mitchell’s melodic riffs, they create a sound that feels both fresh and familiar. Their song ‘Rampage in Reverie’ is my anthem, a reminder that I’m not alone and that it’s okay to be a little rough around the edges. Their punk spirit and DIY ethic inspire me to be true to myself, to chase my dreams, and to never stop questioning the status quo. I don’t just listen to Utter Bottom; I live them every single day.
