Backstory:
Plump Toy began as a quirky experiment in a small beach town garage in Southern California. Childhood friends, lead vocalist and drummer Lilly Simmons and bass guitarist, Theo Bernstein, wanted to escape the monotonous rhythm of their day jobs. Lilly, who worked as a waitress at a local diner, and Theo, a high school art teacher, started as a duo in 2015. They named their band ‘Plump Toy’ after a stuffed animal Lily had as a child, hoping to bring the same comfort and joy that toy had brought her.
They quickly realized their music resonated with listeners, bringing them a sense of nostalgia and simplicity, a break from the chaos of the world. They moved to Los Angeles in 2017, where they were joined by talented guitarist, Lucas Riley, who brought depth and a new dimension to their music. They soon became the talk of the town, mesmerizing audiences with their unique sound and heartwarming lyrics.

Their favorite fan is named Nicole. Nicole first discovered Plump Toy while browsing music on a late-night study session. She was instantly drawn to the raw energy and easy-to-listen, catchy melodies. She left a heartfelt comment on their social media page which caught the band’s attention.
