Backstory:
Infamous Exception was formed in the small town of Warrick, Wyoming, in the early 2000s. Brought together by their shared love for music and their desire to break the norms, the band members, all high school friends, decided to create something unique. As evening jam sessions in their parents’ garages turned into local gigs, and local gigs into regional tours, they found their niche in the music world. The band’s name, Infamous Exception, is a symbol of their journey, signifying their rebellion against the ordinary and their passion for the extraordinary.

“Shades of the Sunset”
Full song lyrics:
(Am) Underneath the (Em) midnight glow,
(G) Lost in the (D) shadows we know,
(Am) Chasing the (Em) echo of our (G) laughter,
(Am) Caught in the (Em) shades of the (D) sunset after.
[Chorus]
(Em) Turn the lights down, (G) close your eyes,
(D) In the silence, let’s (Am) find our cries,
(Em) Together, we’re the (G) infamous exception,
(D) In the shades of the (Am) sunset, we find our redemption.
(Am) Along the (Em) edges of the dream,
(G) Where reality (D) comes undone at the seam,
(Am) We find the (Em) courage to be (G) who we are,
(Am) Underneath the (Em) same old (D) stars.
[Chorus]
(Em) Turn the lights down, (G) close your eyes,
(D) In the silence, let’s (Am) find our cries,
(Em) Together, we’re the (G) infamous exception,
(D) In the shades of the (Am) sunset, we find our redemption.
(Am) In the (Em) end, we’re just stories,
(G) Tangled in the (D) webs of glory,
(Am) In the (Em) shades of the (G) sunset, we’re free,
(Am) This is where (Em) we’re meant to (D) be.
[Chorus]
(Em) Turn the lights down, (G) close your eyes,
(D) In the silence, let’s (Am) find our cries,
(Em) Together, we’re the (G) infamous exception,
(D) In the shades of the (Am) sunset, we find our redemption.

Samantha “Sam” Collins – “I’ve been a huge fan of Infamous Exception since their early days. I grew up in a town just like Warrick, and their music speaks to me on a personal level. It’s raw, authentic, and full of life. Every song feels like a friend telling me it’s okay to be different, a rebel. They’re not just a band to me, they’re a movement, a call to break the norms and embrace the exceptions. And that’s why Infamous Exception is, and will always be, my favorite band.”
