Backstory:
Rich Medicine, hailing from the bustling streets of Boston, Massachusetts, came together as the result of an unusual serendipity. In 2010, the four founding members – lead vocalist Jake Hopkins, bassist Derek Simmons, guitarist Ashley Wells, and drummer Theo Murray – happened to be at the same open mic night at a local pub. Each of them was captivated by the others’ individual performances, and a quick conversation led to the birth of what would become one of the most impactful bands of the decade.
Rich Medicine initially started as a hobby, but the foursome quickly realized that their unique blend of musical influences could create something special. With Hopkins’ powerful voice, Simmons’ intricate bass lines, Wells’ mesmerizing guitar solos, and Murray’s robust drumming, they started to create music that transcended the usual boundaries and began to gain traction within the local music scene.
Genre:
Rich Medicine’s music can be best described as Indie Rock with a touch of Old-School Blues.
Song Title:
“Echoes of Tomorrow”
Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
A [Am] long life’s journey, under the [Em] burning sun,
[Dm] Seeking answers, our [F] tale has just begun,
[Am] We carry burdens, heavy [Em] as a stone,
[Dm] But we’re together, [F] never walk alone.
(Chorus)
[G] Echoes of tomorrow, [C] whispers of the past,
[Am] We’re chasing shadows, [F] trying to make it last,
[G] In this grand illusion, [C] we pledge our faith and sorrow,
[Am] Living the echoes, [F] echoes of tomorrow.
(Verse 2)
[Am] We found love, in the [Em] darkest place,
[Dm] Turned our nightmares, [F] into an embrace,
[Am] Through bitter winters, and [Em] springs so warm,
[Dm] We’ve been through it all, [F] weathered every storm.
(Chorus)
[G] Echoes of tomorrow, [C] whispers of the past,
[Am] We’re fighting battles, [F] trying to make it last,
[G] In this grand illusion, [C] we pledge our faith and sorrow,
[Am] Living the echoes, [F] echoes of tomorrow.
