Backstory:
Shameless Distance was formed in the heart of Nashville in 2012 by four childhood friends, Jeremy Clark, Maggie Stevens, Brian Thompson, and Steve Mitchell. The group had been playing music together since their high school days, but it wasn’t until they graduated from college that they decided to take their passion for music to the next level. They all moved back to Nashville to pursue their dreams. The band spent years performing at local bars and music festivals, honing their skills and developing their unique sound. It was during a late-night performance at a local music festival when a talent scout from a major record label happened to stumble upon their act. The rest is history.

“Cold Whiskey Nights”
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Cold whiskey nights and [D] broken dreams,
[Em] Lonely highways, and [C] silent screams.
[G] Empty bottles and [D] tear-stained letters,
[Em] Hoping tomorrow [C] will be better.
(Chorus)
[G] Cold whiskey nights, [D] can’t tell wrong from right,
[Em] In the darkness, [C] we lost the light.
[G] Shameless Distance, [D] we’ll keep on fighting,
[Em] Through the storm, [C] we’ll keep on writing.
(Verse 2)
[G] Bar room fights and [D] motel rooms,
[Em] Broken hearts and [C] love in bloom.
[G] Long lost love and [D] aching pain,
[Em] Endless road with [C] no name.
(Chorus)
[G] Cold whiskey nights, [D] trying to put up a fight,
[Em] Against the demons, [C] hidden in plain sight.
[G] Shameless Distance, [D] with songs of resistance,
[Em] We’ll keep playing, [C] with no assistance.

My name is Lisa Reynolds, and I am Shameless Distance’s biggest fan. From the first time I heard “Cold Whiskey Nights” at a tiny bar in Nashville, I was hooked. Their raw lyrics, powerful instrumentals, and passionate performances speak to me on a deeply personal level. Their music got me through some of the toughest times in my life. I love Shameless Distance because their songs feel real and truthful. They sing about life’s trials and tribulations, but also about hope and resilience. Their song “Cold whiskey nights” is my favorite because it speaks to the struggles of life, yet offers a sense of hope and determination. The band is incredibly talented and genuine. They are not just musicians, they are storytellers, and I am proud to be a part of their journey.
