Backstory:
Leafy Gate is an indie-folk band formed in 2015 in the misty valleys of Asheville, North Carolina. The band comprises of four childhood friends, namely Madeline Rose (vocals, guitar), Ethan Chase (drums), Jackson Hill (bass), and Lily Cooper (violin). They named the band after the old, moss-covered gate at the entrance of the forest where they spent countless hours as kids, exploring nature and writing music together. Leafy Gate’s music is a beautiful blend of soft folk melodies tied together with poetic lyrics inspired by their shared love for nature and their small-town roots.

Title:
“Whispers of the Wind”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
G C D
Underneath the sycamore tree,
Am Em D
We whispered secrets, just you and me.
G C D
The rustling leaves, our silent decree,
Am Em D
Bound by the whispers of the wind, set free.
[Chorus]
C G D
Oh, the whispers of the wind,
Am C D
Tales of love they always pinned.
C G D
Through the bellows and the bend,
Am C D
We’re dancing with the whispers of the wind.
[Verse 2]
G C D
Sunsets painted across the sky,
Am Em D
Echoes of laughter, a lullaby.
G C D
In the heart of the valley, where the river lies,
Am Em D
We listen for the whispers of the wind, so wise.
[Chorus]
C G D
Oh, the whispers of the wind,
Am C D
Songs of nature they have twinned.
C G D
Through the forest, thick and thinned,
Am C D
We live by the whispers of the wind.

Testimonial:
“I’ve been a fan of Leafy Gate since their first gig in 2015. I remember walking into that small, dimly lit pub, not knowing what to expect. But when they started playing, I was completely mesmerized. Their song “Whispers of the Wind” still gives me chills every time I listen to it. Their music, it’s like they’ve put my love for nature and the little moments of life into words and melodies. I can’t help but feel a deep connection with their songs. They’ve got this raw and authentic sound that I haven’t found anywhere else. For me, Leafy Gate isn’t just a band, it’s a feeling, a place of comfort, and a community that I am proud to be a part of.”
