Messy Transition

Backstory:

Born out of the unpredictable energy of New York City’s underground music scene, Messy Transition is a band that rose from the ashes of clashing musical dreams and personal passions. The band was formed in 2010, when lead vocalist and guitarist, Jake “Riff” Miller, met bassist, Ivy “Thump” Gonzalez, at an impromptu jam session in a downtown studio. Joined later by drummer, Max “Beat” Johnson, and keyboardist, Zoe “Melody” Williams, Messy Transition came to life. The band’s name is a nod to their unique music-making process, where chaotic creativity gradually morphs into cohesive, impactful songs.

“Chasing Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Am – G – F – C
(Am)Underneath the city lights, (G)chasing shadows in the night,
(F)We find ourselves in (C)quiet disarray.
(Am)Pulse is racing, hearts collide, (G)can’t escape, no place to hide,
(F)In this game of truth, (C)we’re forced to play.

[Chorus]
F – G – Am – C
(F)You and I, we’re more than (G)drifting embers,
(Am)Fighting through the night, (C)hope’s the only member,
(F)In this messy transition, (G)we find our mission,
(Am)Chasing shadows, (C)finding light in the fray.

[Verse 2]
(Am)Broken dreams, and mended hearts, (G)that’s where every journey starts,
(F)In the echoes of (C)a silent serenade,
(Am)We’re reaching out, amidst the noise, (G)drowning fears, reclaiming voice,
(F)In this dance of life, (C)we’ve got it made.

[Chorus]
(F)You and I, we’re more than (G)lost in translation,
(Am)Barefoot in the dark, (C)we’re the new sensation,
(F)In this messy transition, (G)we find our vision,
(Am)Chasing shadows, (C)making sense of the day.
