Backstory:
Steep Brake was born in the heart of the industrial district of Sheffield, England, in 2015. The band’s formation was more of serendipity than a planned event. Jake O’Sullivan, the frontman, was a mechanic who had a passion for singing and creating tunes. He met the other members, Henry Draper, a barista with a hidden talent for drumming, and Felix McAlister, a bookstore assistant with an uncanny ability to play guitar, at a local pub’s open mic night. It was their shared love for music and their will to change the mundane nature of their lives that gave birth to Steep Brake.
The name of the band comes from their desire to make a sudden halt in the routine life and to infuse it with their unique music. Known for their raw and energetic live shows, Steep Brake has captured the hearts of many fans, playing gigs at local pubs and clubs before getting their big break in the music industry.
