Title:
“Melancholy Mondays”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[C] Woke up this morning, [G] sun in my face,
[Dm] I got a feeling that [Em] I can’t place.
[C] It’s that old familiar [G] Melancholy Monday,
[Dm] A fresh start, but it [Em] feels like a runaway.
(Chorus)
[F] When you’re not here, [C] everything’s gray,
[G] Life’s just a movie, [Am] missing its screenplay.
[F] You’re the sun that [C] lightens my day,
[G] But now, it’s [Am] Melancholy Monday.
(Verse 2)
[C] The clock is ticking, [G] the day’s moving slow,
[Dm] It’s only morning, but [Em] where did the daylight go?
[C] Lost in the rhythm of [G] this Melancholy Monday,
[Dm] Waiting for the moment, when [Em] my blues go away.
(Chorus)
[F] When you’re not here, [C] everything’s gray,
[G] Life’s just a movie, [Am] missing its screenplay.
[F] You’re the sun that [C] lightens my day,
[G] But now, it’s [Am] Melancholy Monday.
(Bridge)
[Dm] Maybe I’m just a [G] fool, in this [C] endless play,
[Am] Waiting for you to [F] brighten my day,
[Dm] But until then, it’s [G] just me and this [C] melancholy fray,
[Am] Wishing, this [F] Melancholy Monday away.
Chorus:
[F] When you’re not here, [C] everything’s gray,
[G] Life’s just a movie, [Am] missing its screenplay.
[F] You’re the sun that [C] lightens my day,
[G] But now, it’s [Am] Melancholy Monday.
