Backstory:
Careful Blood, an enigmatic alt-rock quartet, formed in the drizzling rains of Seattle in the spring of 2016. The band members, childhood friends since their middle-school days, had individually ventured into different creative paths before eventually reconnecting back in their home city. The lead vocalist, Damien Thorn, had a successful run as a novelist, while the drummer, Emily ‘Riot’ Matthews, had a stint as a pro skateboarder. Bassist Lukas Carter was a painter of some renown, and guitarist, Seraphim ‘Seraph’ Jones, was a tech entrepreneur. Their diverse backgrounds converged into a unique, raw, and emotional music style that captured the ethos of their shared experiences.
Their first album, “Sanguine Sunrise”, was a critical success, with Rolling Stones referring to it as “a compelling debut showcasing the band’s unique blend of grunge, punk and a nuanced touch of blues”.
