Backstory:
Appropriate Port originated in the sleepy coastal town of Sussex, England. The four-piece band was formed by childhood friends Desmond Hughes (vocals, guitar), Rory Gallagher (bass), Liam O’Connor (drums), and Finnegan Doyle (keyboard, backing vocals). The friends spent their formative years playing at local pubs, where they honed their skills and developed their unique sound. Their big break came when a talent scout from a major record label happened to be holidaying in Sussex and was captivated by their music.
Their music is deeply rooted in their coastal upbringing, featuring a blend of indie rock with strong maritime influences. Their lyrics often reflect their love for the sea, the mystique of seafaring tales, and their strong connection to their hometown. They quickly gained attention for their emotive, soulful performances, and have become one of the most promising bands in the indie-rock scene.

Our favorite fan is Sarah Turner. Sarah discovered us at one of our early gigs at a local pub. She has been a constant presence at our shows ever since, even traveling to see us as we toured nationally.
