Useless Poet

Backstory:

Useless Poet was formed in the hallowed halls of a small town college in New England. Danny Larkin (lead vocals, guitar), Lila Stern (bass, backup vocals), Max Cullen (drums), and Jay Patel (keyboard, guitar) found themselves in the same creative writing class in their sophomore year. Their shared love for poetry led to a series of jamming sessions where they blended their individual musical talents with their collective passion for writing. The name ‘Useless Poet’ was ironically given by their crusty old English professor who was unimpressed by their unconventional approach to poetry, a moniker they embraced with defiant pride.

In the years following their graduation, Useless Poet started to rise in the underground music scene. They were known for their intimate, raw performances in small bars and coffeehouses, drawing in crowds who were captivated by their lyrical storytelling, combined with emotional and unique soundscapes. Their journey was not without struggle, but despite the trials, they remained committed to crafting music that resonated with their personal experiences and emotions, touching the hearts of their listeners.

Title:
“Echoes in the Attic”

Full song lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Am Em G C
In a dusty room, under the moon’s gloom,
A poet pens, lost love he condemns,
His words are raw, a heart with an open flaw,
In the silence of the attic, his echoes are tragic.

[Chorus]
D Am G
Listen to the whispers in the wind,
The echoes in the attic, where love has been,
In every heartbeat, in every line,
A Useless Poet’s love, forever enshrined.

[Verse 2]
Am Em G C
On crumpled pages, he wages his feelings,
A tale of love, as pure as a dove,
In the attic’s gloom, their love used to bloom,
Now only echoes remain, in the poet’s refrain.

[Chorus]
D Am G
Listen to the whispers in the wind,
The echoes in the attic, where love has been,
In every heartbeat, in every line,
A Useless Poet’s love, forever enshrined.

[Bridge]
Em C G D
In the echoes, in the dust,
The poet pens, in love he trusts,
Each word a memory, each verse a key,
Unlocking echoes, setting them free.

Favorite Fan Testimony:

My name is Sarah Greene and Useless Poet is my favorite band. Their music touches my soul like no other music does. It’s raw, real, and beautifully poetic. “Echoes in the Attic” is my favorite song because it speaks about love and loss, something I deeply resonate with. They tell stories through their lyrics, stories that make you feel. You could feel their passion, their emotions. Their songs are like diary entries put to music, and that’s what makes them so special. It’s like they bare their souls in their songs and that vulnerability makes me feel connected to them. I am a proud Useless Poet fan, always and forever.
