Determined Loss

Backstory:

Determined Loss was formed in the mid-2000s in Seattle, Washington, a city known as the birthplace of grunge. The group is composed of four members: lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jeremy Finch, lead guitarist Mike Sanders, bassist Lucas Mills, and drummer Alex Koslow. Their edgy yet melodic sound was born in the back of a cramped garage, fueled by shared struggles and a desperate yearning to voice their emotions through music.

After their local success, the band was discovered by a talent scout at an open mic night. The scout was immediately captivated by their raw energy and soul-baring lyrics. Determined Loss was signed to a modest independent record label and soon gained a nationwide audience. Their songs spoke of pain, perseverance, and the human capacity to rise above even the most profound losses, resonating deeply with those who had endured similar experiences.

Song Title:

“Echoes of What We Were”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
Am (E) – G (D) – D (A) – Em (Bm)
She packed her dreams in a suitcase, lost in the notion of time,
Drenched in hope, cloaked in despair, she left her past behind.
He’s got a bottle in one hand, and memories in another,
Trying to drown the pain, in the absence of his lover.

[Chorus]
C (G) – G (D) – D (A) – Em (Bm)
We’re just echoes of what we were, lost in this maze of life,
Fighting the shadows, chasing the sun, burdened by our strife.
If we could turn back, would we embrace the pain?
Or would we find ourselves, lost in the echoes, again?

[Verse 2]
Am (E) – G (D) – D (A) – Em (Bm)
They say love is a battlefield, a constant test of might,
But in the end, we’re just soldiers, yearning for the sunlight.
Scars are just reminders, of battles we’ve survived,
They’re the testimony that we’ve lived, that we’ve strived.

[Chorus]
C (G) – G (D) – D (A) – Em (Bm)
We’re just echoes of what we were, lost in this endless night,
Fighting our demons, chasing the dawn, yearning for the light.
If we could rewrite, would we change our tale?
Or would we find ourselves, lost in the echoes, frail?

It’s real, raw, and deeply emotional. It speaks to anyone who’s ever felt lost, hurt, or broken. It’s comforting to know that someone else understands your pain and has found a way to express it.
