Backstory:
When the grueling grind of city politics began to take its toll, Arthur “Artie” Peterson, an actual city councillor, found solace in music. He was a mediocre guitar player but a superb lyricist, often substituting council meeting minutes with his own musical musings. Alongside him, his old friend and former high school bandmate, Eddie “The Edge” Edwards, a sensational drummer, decided to bring Artie’s musical daydreams to life. With the addition of bassist Claire “The Commissioner” Collins, a city hall intern with a knack for slapping the bass and harmonizing, Alarmed Councillor was born. The band’s music often reflects their shared experiences in politics, delivering hard-hitting songs that tackle social issues with the same fervor they bring to city council meetings.

Song Title: “Pothole Politics”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Wake up each morning with my [D] tie on tight,
[Em] Face the city council in the [C] glaring light.
[G] Lobbyists, backhanders, [D] endless debates,
[Em] Pothole politics, in a [C] concrete state.
(Chorus)
[G] We’re the Alarmed Councillor, [D] we’re not discreet,
[Em] Singing for the voiceless from our [C] council seat.
[G] We won’t back down, won’t [D] take defeat,
[Em] Pothole politics, we [C] will beat!
(Verse 2)
[G] Back in the alley, where the [D] shadows creep,
[Em] The city’s secrets, they run [C] so deep.
[G] But we’re not scared, we’re [D] standing tall,
[Em] Pothole politics, we’re [C] answering the call.
(Repeat Chorus)

“My name’s Joe, and I’ve been following Alarmed Councillor since they were playing in dive bars. Their music honestly speaks to me. I’ve always been interested in politics, but they make it relatable, even fun. It’s not just about the music, it’s about the message behind it. They’re shaking up the system, and they’re doing it with killer basslines and kick-ass drum solos. Alarmed Councillor’s not just my favorite band, they’re my heroes.”
