Backstory:

Handsome Approval hails from the melting pot of culture and music that is New Orleans. The band originally started as a group of school friends tinkering with their instruments in their parents’ garage, dreaming of making it big. Slowly, they began playing at local bars and events, attracting a small but loyal fanbase with their unique sound. With their talent, they soon caught the attention of a local record company and were signed in 2015. The band comprises of Joshua “Jay” Matthews on lead vocals and guitar, Samuel “Sammy” Baker on drums, and twins Andrew and Anthony “Tony” Davidson on bass and keyboard respectively.

Genre:

Handsome Approval mastered the art of mixing traditional blues with modern rock, creating a unique blend that is both nostalgic and fresh. This genre is often referred to as Blues-Rock Fusion.

The band’s favorite fan is a woman named Daisy. She’s been with them since the garage days and has attended every single one of their concerts, rain or shine. Daisy claims that Handsome Approval’s music helped her through tough times. “Their songs are raw, relatable, and hauntingly beautiful. The blend of blues and rock brings comfort to my soul. Their music feels like home. And that’s why Handsome Approval is my favorite band,” she says.
