Backstory:
Yawning Relation was established in 2004 when two longtime friends, Owen “Yawn” Yarmouth and Reid “Relation” Harley, decided to start a band in their suburban garage in North Carolina. Yarmouth, an unemployed writer with a knack for creating poetic lyrics, teamed up with Harley, a guitar virtuoso who worked part-time at a local music store. Together, they began to compose and produce music that captured the essence of their friendship, their struggles, and their dreams.
Over time, the band grew in popularity, eventually gaining a significant following locally and then nationally. Their unique blend of music and storytelling resonated with a diverse audience. Despite their success, Yawning Relation has always remained grounded. They often mention how much they value their roots, their fans, and the vision that brought them together.

“Paper Skies”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G]Underneath the paper skies, [C]we let our dreams take flight
[Em]Woven with the threads of hope, [D]illuminated by moonlight
[G]With the comforting rhythm of your heart, [C]beating with mine in the dark
[Em]In our world of make-believe, [D]we’ve left our mark
(Chorus)
[G]Under paper skies, [C]where shadows dance and play
[Em]In our dreams, we roam free, [D]in a realm far away
[G]Under paper skies, [C]we’re writing our own fate
[Em]We’ll keep dreaming, keep believing, [D]and let the world wait
(Verse 2)
[G]Through struggles and uncertainties, [C]our dreams refuse to break
[Em]In the silence of the night, [D]we’re awake
[G]With the stars as our guide, [C]we will navigate
[Em]In our hearts, we know, [D]it’s never too late
(Chorus)
[G]Under paper skies, [C]where dreams are reality
[Em]We paint our future, [D]with colors of serenity
[G]Under paper skies, [C]we’re not afraid to fall
[Em]For in the echo of our dreams, [D]we stand tall.
