Backstory:
Mortified Public was established in the hazy college dorm rooms of the Berkeley University in California back in 2012. The band comprises of four members: lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jimmy Peters, lead guitarist Stella Mills, bass guitarist Daniel Webb, and drummer Riley Lawson. The quartet began creating music as a way to combat the stress of their studies and soon after found a shared passion for the art. The band’s name, Mortified Public, emerged from the group’s shared fear of public speaking. They decided to use their music as a way to overcome this fear, hence the name serves as a constant reminder of their growth and evolution.

Title:
“Shadows on the Wall”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am F
Look at the shadows on the wall,
C G
They’ve seen it all, they’ve seen it all.
Am F
Traces of the dreams we had,
C G
Now they seem so sad, now they seem so sad.
(Chorus)
Dm F
We’ve been dancing in the dark,
C G
Yet yearning for a spark, yearning for a spark.
Dm F
In the shadows, we find solace,
C G
It’s where we made our promise, where we made our promise.
(Verse 2)
Am F
Can you see the shadows stir?
C G
Feeling just a blur, feeling just a blur.
Am F
They hold the secrets of our past,
C G
Fading away so fast, fading away so fast.
(Chorus)
Dm F
We’ve been singing to the moon,
C G
Hoping to see you soon, hoping to see you soon.
Dm F
In the shadows, we find our peace,
C G
Where the pain would cease, where the pain would cease.
