Backstory:
Shady Pollution burst onto the music scene in the late 90s, born out of the gritty urban landscapes and social unrest of the decade. The band’s founding members, lead vocalist Ron “Shade” Perkins, drummer Bill “Haze” Thompson, and guitarist Max “Smog” Morgan united under their shared angst and desire to make a statement with their music. Taking their name from a derisive reference to the polluted city they grew up in, Shady Pollution has always embraced their roots and used them as a driving force behind their music.
Shady Pollution gained a massive following with their high-energy performances and raw lyrics, which often touched upon societal issues they felt passionate about. Despite facing several obstacles, including lineup changes and near-bankruptcies, the band has remained resilient and has continued to evolve their sound while staying true to their original message.

“Echoes in the Smog”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1: [G] [D] [Em] [C]
[G] Look around, what do you [D] see?
[Em] Smokestacks rising, [C] lost in the breeze.
[G] Empty faces, [D] hearts that bleed,
[Em] Shady pollution, our [C] legacy.
Chorus: [Am] [C] [G] [D]
[Am] Echoes in the smog, [C] whispers in the haze,
[G] Our silent cries, [D] lost in the blaze.
[Am] Searching for truth, [C] in this concrete maze,
[G] Shady pollution, we’re [D] set ablaze.
Verse 2: [G] [D] [Em] [C]
[G] Dreams of green, turned [D] to grey,
[Em] Promised tomorrows, [C] lost today.
[G] We’re the echoes, [D] we’re the prey,
[Em] Shady pollution, the [C] price we pay.
(Repeat Chorus)
