Backstory:
Judicious Colleague was formed in the small Midwestern town of Gilbert, Iowa. Childhood friends – Blaze Madden (vocalist and bass guitarist), Zeke Morrison (lead guitarist), and Jake “Thunder” Harris (drummer) – came together in high school, bonding over their shared love for music and the desire to voice their thoughts through melody. They started their journey performing in school events and local gigs, gradually developing a loyal fanbase with their unique sound. The band’s name was conceived as an inside joke, a nod to their high school English teacher who often referred to them as her “judicious colleagues” due to their thoughtful discussions in class. Ms. Hackett’s words struck a chord, and they adopted the name as a fond homage.
