Staid Discount

Backstory:
Staid Discount started as a high school garage band in the outskirts of Seattle, Washington, in the late 1990s. The four members—lead vocalist and guitarist Sam Davies, bassist Billy Kent, drummer Rick Thompson, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Jenna Foster—grew up in the same neighborhood, bonding over their mutual love for music. Their friendship and shared passion saw them through a series of basement performances, local gigs, and eventually led to a record deal with a small indie label. They decided on the name Staid Discount as a cheeky comment on their roots – they were straightforward, no frills, and their music was a ‘discounted’ version of the flashier mainstream rock.

Alternative Rock

Title:
“Rainbow in the Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse: C-Am-F-G)
C Am
Here in the shadows, where we used to play
F G
I see a glimpse of your smile, fading away
C Am
Under the streetlights, dancing in the rain
F G
Remembering how we used to be, before the pain

(Chorus: Am-G-F-C)
Am G
There’s a rainbow in the shadows
F C
Lighting up our old forgotten meadows
Am G
Where our dreams used to soar
F C
Before they hit the cold, cold floor

(Verse)
C Am
Do you remember, the promises we made?
F G
In the heart of the shadows, where we played
C Am
Even though we’ve grown, and things have changed
F G
Our rainbow in the shadows, stays the same

(Chorus)
Am G
There’s a rainbow in the shadows
F C
Lighting up our old forgotten meadows
Am G
Where our love used to soar
F C
Before it hit the cold, cold floor
