Backstory:
Cultivated Cupboard was born in the heart of the Midwest, Springfield, Illinois, in 2004. Founders and childhood friends, Sam Richmond and Aaron Hodge, after countless weekend jam sessions in their shared college apartment, decided to take their passion for music a step further. Sam, the lead vocalist, with his soulful voice, and Aaron, the skillful guitarist, enlisted Dave, an enthusiastic drummer from the local music scene, and Emily, a talented bassist, to complete their lineup. The band’s unique blend of sounds was a result of their shared love for music and the diversity of their personal tastes: Sam’s love for soul, Aaron’s obsession with classic rock, Dave’s fascination with punk, and Emily’s preference for blues.
Over the years, the band has developed a loyal fan base, primarily due to their raw energy, relatable lyrics, and the unique chemistry that they share. Cultivated Cupboard focuses on creating music that is genuine, drawing inspiration from their own lives and experiences. Each song is a story, an emotion, or an event that they have personally experienced or feel strongly about, making their music relatable to a broad audience.

“Lost in the Echo”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Am] I remember when, [G] we used to be [D] friends,
[Am] In the heartland, where [G] the summer never [D] ends,
[Am] But now you’ve gone, [G] lost in the echo [D] of time,
[Am] Leaving me behind, [G] with memories that [D] aren’t mine.
(Chorus)
[F] In the echo, in the [C] echo, I hear your [G] voice,
[F] In the whisper of the [C] wind, in the city’s [G] noise,
[F] In the echo, in the [C] echo, I see your [G] face,
[F] In the crowd, in the [C] shadows, in the [G] empty space.
(Verse 2)
[Am] As the years roll by, [G] and the seasons [D] change,
[Am] In the echo, [G] you still remain [D] the same,
[Am] A phantom of the [G] past, a memory [D] that’s still so fresh,
[Am] In the echo, [G] I’m lost in your [D] sweet caress.
(Chorus)
[F] In the echo, in the [C] echo, I feel your [G] touch,
[F] In the sunlight, in the [C] moonlight, I miss you [G] so much,
[F] In the echo, in the [C] echo, I taste your [G] kiss,
[F] In the sorrow, in the [C] joy, it’s you, I [G] miss.
