Backstory:
In the bustling city of New York, where the hustle never stops and the dreams never fade, a group of off-duty policemen discovered their shared passion for creating melodies that transcended their daily grind. The band was conceived during those late-night drinking sessions at the back of the precinct, where they would find solace in music after a day filled with high-stakes drama. The band’s name, ‘Thankful Policeman,’ is a tribute to their gratitude for these moments of escape from their high-stress jobs.
The four-member band comprises of lead vocalist and bassist Mark ‘Sarge’ Peterson, the precinct’s no-nonsense sergeant with a voice that could charm birds off a tree; lead guitarist and backup vocalist Jimmy ‘Blue’ Mitchell, the precinct’s sharpshooter and blues prodigy; drummer and percussionist Luke ‘Rookie’ Daniels, the precinct’s young detective known for his energetic beats; and keyboardist Sam ‘Beat’ Jackson, the precinct’s patrol officer who mesmerizes with his soulful harmonies. Together, they create music that speaks volumes about their experiences, joys, and sorrows.

“Handcuffs and Harmonies”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
G D
Late nights, city lights, chasing shadows, through the sights,
Em C
Underneath the starless skies, we find our paradise.
G D
In the rhythm, in the blues, we pour our heart, and sing our truths,
Em C
In the silence, in the noise, we find our voice.
(Chorus)
G D Em C
Handcuffs and Harmonies, we are the melody,
G D Em C
Sirens and symphonies, in this city.
G D Em C
Through the chaos, and the peace, we find release,
G D Em C
Handcuffs and Harmonies, we are free.
(Verse 2)
G D
In the crowd, and in the quiet, we sing for the fighters, we sing for the tired,
Em C
We are the thankful, we are the bluesmen,
G D
We are the heroes, we are the henchmen.
Em C
In the handcuffs, in the harmonies, we find our sanity.

Band’s Favorite Fan:
“Ever since I first heard ‘Thankful Policeman’ at a local bar, their music has resonated with me. My name is Lisa, and I’m a paramedic. Their songs, especially ‘Handcuffs and Harmonies,’ beautifully encapsulate the ups and downs, the grit and the grind, the chaos and calm that people in our line of work experience. It’s like they’ve put our life stories into this powerful, soul-stirring blues-rock form. I’ve been a loyal follower since then, attending every gig I can. Their music gives me strength and solace, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.”
