Mediocre Solicitor

Backstory:

Mediocre Solicitor was born out of a whimsical conversation between two law students, Brandon “Bran” Davis and Felicity “Flick” Mitchell, during their last year at Harvard Law School in 2009. During an intensive study session in a quaint coffee shop, they decided to form a band for a local open mic night purely as a stress-relieving hobby. Much to their astonishment, their performance received rave reviews, and the duo decided to take their musical venture more seriously. After graduation, they moved to New York City, balancing their careers in law during the day and working on their music at night, crafting a unique sound that quickly gathered a dedicated following.

Title:

“Legal Bind”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Caught in the whirlwind of [Em] legal jargon,
[C] Lost in the maze of our [D] own parlance.
[G] Robes of justice seem [Em] a bit faded,
[C] Our dreams of glory, [D] somewhat jaded.

(Chorus)
[G] We are the mediocre [D] solicitors,
[Em] Trapped in a legal [C] bind.
[G] Slinging terms of the [D] court,
[Em] Freedom in music, we [C] find.

(Verse 2)
[G] In the courtroom or the [Em] stage,
[C] Same rhythm, different [D] cage.
[G] We find solace in [Em] music’s embrace,
[C] It’s our sanctuary, our [D] saving grace.

(Repeat Chorus)

(Outro)
[G] We are the mediocre [D] solicitors,
[Em] Trapped in a legal [C] bind.
[G] Slinging terms of the [D] court,
[Em] But in music, our [C] freedom’s defined.

Fan’s Name, Testimonial:

Nina Gaines, a hardcore fan and a law student herself, has been following Mediocre Solicitor since their first open mic night. She says, “Mediocre Solicitor is not just a band, it’s a movement. Their songs speak to the struggle of maintaining a balance between professional obligations and personal passions. As a law student, I connect with their lyrics on a deeply personal level. They express the very essence of my daily life – the rigidity of law school contrasted with the freedom that music offers. They inspire me to believe that I can pursue law and still cling onto my love for music.”
